Sony's Shuhei Yoshida has just moved into a new role at PlayStation that will see him working with independent developers ahead of the PS5's launch, but in his spare time, he clearly enjoys creating waves on Twitter. He is certainly one to retweet and promote community creations, reviews, and interesting Sony-focused content, but outright abuse? This is surely a first.
Shuhei was very innocently responding to a tweet about and Hermen Hulst's promotions when some nobody came along yesterday and said: "You killed Socom shame on you coward!". It's stupidity at its finest, of course Shu himself wasn't the one to break the hearts of those who loved the tactical experience, but that's the internet for you nowadays.
The interesting thing about all of this is that Yoshida then goes on to retweet the attack, doing so just a few hours ago. Is Shuhei simply making fun of the ridiculous tweet, or is he hinting at something? Probably not, but we've just gone and gotten our hopes up for the return of SOCOM all over again. Goddamnit, Shuhei Yoshida. He knew what he was doing!
Do you hope that SOCOM will return one day? Do you think Shuhei Yoshida is hinting at something? Get a squad going in the comments below.

That Could Be That Mutiplayer Game That Guerrilla Games Was Hiring For.
SOCOM was an okay game. Why does anyone want that brought back? I could think of many other titles more deserving than SOCOM.
Although I've never played SOCOM, from what I've heard (I may have misinterpreted) it sounds like the type of game which I would enjoy, i.e. Something a bit more grown-up and more akin to the original Ghost Recon titles, rather than the Assassin's Creed reskins which the GR series has now become.
In summary, I'd buy it.
SOCOM II and 3 will always be the best. If they can replicate them but just put modern graphics that'd be great.
@CB7Tuner91. Ok for you but everyone else loves socom so what you saying dog.😒.word up son
@playstation1995 it was a basic 3rd person military shooter. It wasn't bad but it definitely wasnt great.
@CB7Tuner91 SOCOM II was immensely popular in its day and I'd even say that it put the PS2 on the map in terms of 3rd-person competitive multiplayer. I'm not quite sure what you mean by "basic" but you had crouching, prone-position, 'peaking', all sorts of customizable tactical gear and guns that had their own stats and performance, no health regen; you had clans, ranks, multiple game modes, a slew of diverse maps, and fast-paced action. I'm not sure 'basic' is the word I'd use to describe it.
@PunkRx_Lockly it might not have been basic back then, but as far as today's standard with Sonys first party games it is. I played SOCOM 4 and where it wasnt bad it definitely didn't blow my mind away was all I was saying.
@CB7Tuner91 Well, I won't disagree with you there, but there's a bit of difference between SOCOM 4 and SOCOM II, lol.
Never played it but there are a lot of fans i hope it returns for them. 😃👍
If they brought back SOCOM they would sell so many more Playstation
