Wow, we're a little bit impressed by this. Activision's biggest franchise dropped its commitment to the season pass DLC model with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, instead promising a slew of free updates after launch. Developer Infinity Ward has stuck to that with a few minor content drops, but the upcoming Season One update is claiming to be "the biggest free content drop in Call of Duty history".
True to form, there's rather a lot to take in here. Classic Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare multiplayer maps Crash, Shipment, and Vacant are making their return alongside three completely new online modes. Those being Reinforce, Gunfight OSP, and Infected. Exciting, right? The fun doesn't stop there, however, with another new map for Ground War called Port and two weapons named the RAM-7 and Holger-26.
Gunfight isn't left out in the cold as it receives three more close-quarters maps, while the co-op Spec Ops mode gets at least four new experiences. Don't forget that this is all completely free, meaning this is a lot. It's all scheduled to launch on 3rd December for PlayStation 4, so we'll be checking out all this new content when the time comes. Expect to see our thoughts on the subject here on Push Square, because this is one update we're excited about.
What do you make of all this new stuff? Let us know in the comments below.

Can't wait to try out the new maps. Shipment especially.
It's nice enough but we barely had any maps to begin with tbh.
That's really great!
I really wanted to like this game, but I regretted every cent of the $6 I paid to rent it, and every minute I spent playing it.
Why? Because the mechanics, the visuals, the sound, the feedback of the weapons, the class customization is all steller.
But the gameplay, specifically in Spec-Ops and Multiplayer made for a miserable experience. Spec-Ops is waaaaaay to hard... Infinitely respawning enemies with sporadic spawn locations is so tedious... I didn't have the time to invest to get good at that, I'm afraid, and the multiplayer maps are waaaaay too complex, and the games are constantly filled with campers that really hamper my enjoyment and my drive to move around the maps to learn them....
It's great that they're supporting the game with post launch free DLC though. Hope everyone enjoys it!
Clean house is an all time great mission. More night vision games please
Looking forward to diving in. Haven't touched the singleplayer much at all yet and I've put over 24hrs into the MP. Haven't done that with cod since my teens. Good times.
@Constable_What cod has always had a camping problem. This isn't new and/or specific to MW. It's no longer the run and gun that people assume it is and that's putting people off. Specifically the impatient folk who wanna rule all.
biggest free content to date, but what is the catch?... that i like to know, since we all know activision is the least company to give away something for free, without expecting to get something back, like monetizing your butts to the ground. as i see it these battle passes that is coming must have something big in them that everyone wants to pay for.
@Constable_What here is a tip, domination/headquarters is the best online mp game mode at the moment, and for god sake turn off crossplay on the ps4, it just make everything worse.
