The wait for The Behemoth's return to a Sony platform is almost over, with the developer confirming that Castle Crashers Remastered will launch on PlayStation 4 "shortly after" its release on Nintendo Switch next month on 17th September.
As for why the PS4 version isn't coming at the same time at its Switch-counterpart, the dev team said that the game is in the final stages of its submission process - the last step before a title can launch. "We don’t want to announce an exact launch date until everything is 100% finalized, but as soon as we have this confirmation we’ll share that information with you. In a perfect world this would line up with the Switch release, but the reality is that we just aren’t sure if it will quite yet."
While the longer wait is likely to disappoint one or two of you, it's good that the studio has gotten out in front of this news to give us a solid update that just about confirms when we'll be able to get our own hands on it. An early October launch for Castle Crashers Remastered on PS4 sounds about right.

"It's in the final stages of submission"
Story of my life.
well i enjoyed the original but haven't played it in years so i might give it a whirl when it comes to PS4
Whilst The Behemoth isn't exactly known for being a playstation friendly dev,in this instance not announcing a date "until things are finalized",would be a wise bet, particularly if that approval process includes guessing the EU storefront!
The same EU/AU storefront that announces the same games 2 or 3 times before they hopefully get uploaded...or in the case of Battle Princess Madelyn get radio silence why nearly 8.5 months later it still hasn't gotten an EU/AU psn release! (Pity the poor kickstarter backers), Whilst its been on sale just about everywhere else!
I hope they make castle crashers 2, I have good memory playing this game with local coop on xbox 360 with my friends back then
I played this game to absolute death back on the 360.
Since I have no friends like I did back in high school, I might get it down the line.
@Deadlyblack The curse of getting older. 😉
It was good fun on the PS3 but why did it have such bad language? Could've been a good solid comedy game without the foul language. Perhaps the Nintendo release will sanitise it down a bit?
