We can probably all agree that Beat Saber is the best thing since sliced bread, but its paltry 18 song soundtrack is arguably the worst thing about it. It’s a testament to the strength of the moment-to-moment gameplay that it makes such terrible songs entertaining to play, but there’s always been the promise of DLC on the way.
Unfortunately, this is taking an age to come out, and developer Beat Games has been begged for an update on social media. It told fans that getting the new content out isn’t as easy as it first thought, but that it’s making headway and will provide an update soon. It added that future packs will come quicker now that it has a bit more experience with the whole process.
Perhaps even more excitingly, the studio has pledged free updates akin to the POP/STARS patch that dropped prior to Christmas and almost caused war here at Push Square Towers. At the end of the day, we just want some good songs in the game – the gameplay is far too good to be forever tied to borderline embarrassing techno music.

Why the hate for the soundtrack? Sure it's not mainstream but it's not terrible, and it catches the main point of the game which is having a strong enough beat that you can focus on to succeed.
@torne It's pretty bad.
I'm still hoping the devs can come together to bring custom songs in. Really want to play with my own music.
@AdamNovice I think the only issue with this is that the patterns are really well designed. You could probably create an algorithm to make something playable from the waveform data, but ideally I think you want this to be designed and playtested by someone.
@get2sammyb I mean pop stars is easily the standout song, but country roads and legend are both pretty good!
Hundred dollar bills baby.
I'd never chose to listen to any of it but I have to admit it grows on you with the headset on. Escape is a personal favourite. On hard that awful pop stars song never fails to bring a smile to my face when the chorus starts.
