One of 2018's last major game releases is Just Cause 4, which releases on 4th December. The sequel to the technically troubled Just Cause 3 promises to introduce a whole host of new ways to tear through its open world map, with extreme weather conditions playing a big role in the game.
Despite a handful of trailers made up of in-engine footage, Square Enix has begun teasing a full gameplay reveal for later today. At 4pm BST (that's 11am EDT or 8am PDT), Just Cause's YouTube channel will be updated with the first gameplay video. We'll of course update you when it arrives.
Are you excited to see the first proper gameplay from Just Cause 4, or does the previous game have you concerned? Tether your thoughts together in the comments below.

Prediction: unless there has been a serious overhaul and optimisation of this game's engine over that last one, this is gonna run like a slideshow. Digital Foundry's gonna have a field day with this if it does.
I'm excited to see what they can do with weather effect systems, sounds fun. I enjoyed all the previous games, so I'm far from objective on the matter (post-edit: played JC3 on PC). It will be cool to see just how crazy and over-the-top they go.
@Turismo4GT Hopefully Avalanche has managed to make some vast improvements, but yeah, JC3 is a worry.
@Turismo4GT Personally, I consider Digital Foundry to be nothing more than click-bait at this point.
i'm interested but adressing the fact that 3 had many problems and that they are making sure to prevent that with 4 would also generate hype.
kinda let down that they have not said that they will improve the performance on this game for consoles.
I'll happily wait... Played the first two which were enjoyable, then the last one was a bit meh all round, maybe Just Cause fatigue, i dunno.. Surely there is only so many times you can re-invent the wheel.
I like Avalanche, an interesting dev, but I wish they'd try something different at some point, although I get why they might not want to venture too far from what they know, with the financial climate as it is...
Anyway good luck to them, hope it does well for them
I only played JC3 as a PS+ freebie and found it a bit dull. I forget what the main story was even about and had no interest in the characters. While the gameplay was fun at times, it was massively repetitive, and I found it so frustrating that the challenges didn’t have a QuickStart option but you had to watch a loading screen every time you wanted to try again..
@Bonbonetti Kinda agree. Since I love learning about the tech that powers these games, I happily take the bait. I just wish that NX Gamer could put out more content, as I love his technical deep dives as well.
Just watched the gameplay trailer, the more of this, the more I realise this is literally a carbon copy of JC3 with weather and a new map. All the explosions, animations, graphics are the exact same and will run at 15fps!
The engine will be the same as 3s and it will rin like crap, avalanche had plenty of time in development to make 3 better over 2 and from my personally opinion or brought nothing but a wingsuit. The game ran like crap even on my high end pc and I couldn't play it for over 2 weeks because it would crash after 40 mins of playing it. After they patched it first time my FPS was awful so it took about a month for them to release some more patches and it finally worked but at that point I'd given up. I passed on 3 in the end and I will pass on this as well
@Turismo4GT I used to watch Digital at the start but I think they do too many 'X vs Y' comparisons that feel utterly pointless to a consumer, that don't serve a purpose other than to feed the toxicity we all know of. It's mainly these ones I consider to be click-bait. Some of the things they do can be useful for a developer, but in my opinion they've done too many mistakes and don't do enough (or any) updates when a game is patched. Their format could be really good, but I feel they opted for sensationalism rather than professionalism.
