EA and DICE have announced that the Battlefield V open beta will blast onto the scene in the near future. "The Open Beta will showcase the soon-to-be-iconic Rotterdam map on Conquest mode as well as the Arctic Fjord map on both Conquest and Grand Operations," the press release reads. "Soon-to-be-iconic"? Bloody hell.
It'll be available to download on the PlayStation Store next month, on the 6th September. If you pre-order the game, however, you get to charge into the beta a little earlier, on the 4th September.
Right now, there's no defined date on when the beta will end, so it could be that DICE is going to keep it running for however long it needs to.

This game marketing baffled me, this is the sequel to one of the best (if short) serious war campaign and yet, the game trailer open with fortnite/call of duty like explosion and silliness. Youtubers/influencers say the private beta is great but ea doesn't want release that footage to the public and choose to release alpha test on pc. When some people are little confused why the games tone change from the seriousness of the first one, ea/dice say something like "if you don't like this ww2, don't buy it". I was like, really? After the lootbox fiasco gamer is a little bit wary of ea, why the hell they feel arrogant about the game. Hell, even rockstar, activision and ubisoft isn't that arrogant. I understand if this is fifa or madden that sells really well years after years, but battlefield isn't sport games.
Is ea want to sack dice because they got respawn? I think if bioware anthem sold really well, ea will keep bioware around and sack dice because they don't need two first person studio around.
Its pretty cool that everyone gets a crack at it. I'm going to give it a try, despite how boring I think it looks. I'll happily eat my words if I'm wrong
