Honestly, this author was pretty disgruntled when Tennis World Tour failed to materialise at Gamescom 2017 like publisher Bigben had promised. In fact, your humble host may have taken to Twitter to pester the firm for an update.
Anyway, the good news is that it’s not cancelled. The bad news is that this trailer is looking pretty rough. Like, we think this is supposed to show a match between Roger Federer and Gael Monfils, but there’s probably reason the developer’s framed the trailer to generally avoid faces.
There’s a lot of ex-Top Spin talent working on this so we have high hopes for the gameplay; we just hope that the studio has access to enough budget to make the true new-gen tennis title we all deserve. The game's due out Spring 2018.

I love how the crowd is dancing and shouting as in the middle of a rave party (check at 00:27) instead of politely watching the game.
...yeah, I think the statement " we just hope that the studio has access to enough budget to make the true new-gen tennis title we all deserve" is going to ring very true... not showing any faces (always a bad sign) - but equally, I wasn't overly impressed with the animation, etc. I loved Top Spin 4 so much, and have been dying for a new decent tennis sim... maybe it'll be 'gameplay over graphics' (I can live with that...)
Need this in my life... Since Moving over to PS4 and Vita, Virtua Tennis and Everybodys Tennis have not quite scratched the itch... Hopefully they do a great job.
