Sony Announces Timed Vita Price Promotion in France

The Internet went a little bit crazy this afternoon. “A price cut,” screamed the masses, “Finally a Vita price cut.” Their cheers were a little bit premature.
Sony has announced a price promotion for the Vita – but it’s limited to France and it’s not what you think.
If you purchase the system between 1st June and 15th July in the land of frogs’ legs, you’ll scoop a €50 rebate. And that’s pretty much the end of the story.
The platform holder said of the promotion:
This is a limited retail price promotion that is only available for a short space of time in France.
Of course, a price cut could be announced at next week’s E3 – but we’re not holding our breath.

This is probably a sales test to check if the console could sell welll with a more affordable price. (or rebate, in this case)

If there were to be a price drop, I wouldn't be that bothered that I bought mine last week. Got mine $50 off so I was happy either way.
