Deep Silver's come good on their promise of a second game announcement in just as many weeks, confirming that Risen 2: Dark Waters will launch on PlayStation 3 in the near future

Risen 2: Dark Waters Will Bring Nautical Exploration To PS3.

The original fantasy-themed role-playing game did not appear on Sony's platform, so it's a first for the franchise on PlayStation 3.

The sequel's set some years after the original game, with an "all-new pirate theme" thrown in for good measure. The premise is simple: monsters have risen from the depths of the ocean, and you're tasked with putting an end to the ensuing chaos. Deep Silver's touting that full day/night cycles and highly interactive environments will make Risen 2 the most "immersive RPG game world so far". There's no date on the swash-buckling adventure as of yet.
