We were reading on a forum recently one posters opinion that EA have the most to prove to the Playstation crowd with Dante’s Inferno. We kinda shrugged it off at the time, but the more we think about it, the more it makes sense. Dante’s Inferno is a character action game with its formula largely borrowed from God Of War — arguably one of Sony’s biggest releases since Gran Turismo 3. The game redefined a genre, and just ahead of God Of War III, EA have to convince the Playstation 3 crowd that Dante’s Inferno is for them.
Cue, an exclusive edition of the game – entitled the “Divine Edition” – that’s only heading to the Playstation 3. The game, which will retail at the same price as the standard edition on other platforms, includes developer commentaries, a Wayne Barlowe digital art book, the soundtrack to the game and a digital version of the complete Longfellow translation of Dante Alighieri’s Inferno.
In addition to EA releasing a special edition, those with access to the American Playstation Store can enjoy a Dante’s Inferno demo two weeks ahead of the XBOX 360 version today.
“We are thrilled to offer an exclusive game pack for PlayStation 3 gamers,” said executive producer Jonathan Knight, “The PlayStation platform has a long history of delivering AAA action/adventure games. Adding Dante’s Inferno to that rich catalogue is very exciting for the team. And with the demo now available on the PlayStation Network, players can finally get a taste of what awaits them in the full game on Feb 9th.”
That’s lovely. Has this convinced you to buy on PS3, multiplatform owners?
