There's a cartoony edge to Enemy Front's art-style.

Since then he's made a name for himself making bombastic shooters. For a while the developer pitched Codemasters' rubbish Bodycount as a spiritual successor to Black inspired by a Lady GaGa concert he attended. Then he promptly left the development team before things turned sour.

But now he's back with City Interactive's Enemy Front, a World War II shooter powered by CryEngine 3. The game — which due out on PlayStation 3 next year — promises "rich action" and enough detail to "take players back to the carnage and chaos of World War II".

Perhaps Black will see the game's development through to its conclusion this time?
