@LtSarge well it worked for me anyway, I liked the context it brought for Connor’s plight… as well as the nice little twist at the end of the intro.

@CaptD I’m a firm believer in a gamers mood and expectations going in to a game, having a massive bearing on how its received. I’ve returned to loads of games that I initially hated and had a really good time. It always makes me recoil a little when I see people firmly refuse to give something a second go due to their initial experience.

Just played through the modern-day mission at a stadium holding an MMA event. Now that’s the kind of Desmond content I’ve been waiting for since AC1shame he dies at the end of this one now that he’s finally started having some interesting material.

I've only recently finished the Ezio trilogy, so I passed on Mirage - it seemed too similiar (especially to Revelations) and I wasn't up for more of the same. But I might try it in the future, when I again feel like I miss the "old" AC.

Enjoying Mirage, but by God the parkour is so clunky. It's just the same parkour from Origins, Odyssey, Valhalla, but because it's mostly stealth oriented you have to use it a whole lot more 😅😅

I wouldn't say it's like a classic AC game either, just like the fort clearing from Origins for the most part. But I did enjoy clearing those forts, so it's not so bad from that standpoint as you can take varying approaches to areas. It's clearly from the same mould as the later ones though, so I'm surprised people think of it as them going back to a more classic style.

I hope they really refine the stealth elements for Shadows, and to me the combat controls feel pretty clumsy too, where in something like Valhalla you could link in all your special moves to spice it up, and I'm sure the attack, block and parry were nicer in that, but maybe I've just played better sword combat games since then and I'm finding it hard to go back to something so basic and counter intuitive in terms of button comand layout.

When it seems you're out of luck.
