Think I had Paradroid but can’t remember much about it. I think my favourite Spectrum game was 720 degrees and on C64 it’s tough to decide between Turrican and Myth. Good times.

**** DLC!

I turned 37 lat week. My earliest memories of gaming go back to when I was most likely 3 years old.
For the longest time it was PC at home (we didn't have a dedicated gaming system) but in the 90s there were friends and family with Amigas, C64s and Russian NES knock-offs. A friend of mine got a PSX in '96 and I think I loved it even though he only had the demo disc and no other games for a while. We played the Tekken demo a lot.

Some friends and I got ourselves a PS2 when I was at uni and I pretty much completely switched to console gaming when I bought a PS3 after getting my first real job

54 here. Been gaming sinse the Master System days. I saw my nephew play Alex Kidd and I was hooked.
I now own most consoles and handhelds (Multilple of some) and have 100's of original games.
Admitedly, I also have almost every rom/iso for most retro consoles, from Atari to Wonderswan, mainly running through emulators.

Current Level - 55

I'm 35 years old. Started gaming on the NES, then went to SNES and GBA emulators on PC, went to N64 emulator. I briefly owned a PS3 but it didn't saw enough action. I skipped the PS4 generation entirely and here I am.

Also, not gonna lie, most of you people look pretty good on your profile pics, considering your ages. LOL

I updated my status.
I am 37 years old dude, will be 38 years in October 2022.
I only play kids games with very few Teen games as long still appropriate enough for me.
I played a lot of different games from different machines.
Currently I have these games:
Nintendo
GBA
NDS
3DS
Gamecube
Wii
Wii U
Switch

PlayStation
PS1
PS2
PS3
PS4
PSP

Microsoft
XBOX
XBOX 360

I have a plan to build PS5 games during this year. Purchasing games first, buy the machine later once I can get cheaper price machine.

I keep my gaming hobby with consoles and handhelds since 20 years ago while my siblings and my relatives have moved to PC or hand phone gaming.

I'm 43. Don't really remember what I played first but Im pretty sure it was on pc. I do remember playing things like commander keen the original worms and tanks.
After that I was gaming on and off on pc until I started playing mmorpgs. Perfect world international was my first, even met the love of my life through that one. Played wow and ff xiv after that.
Console wise I had an Xbox, Xbox 360 and a wii but never really played much on those. This generation I really wanted to play more single player games and decided to buy an Xbox first with gamepass so I had a lot of games to chose from. After a while I saw what horizon forbidden west was and decided to try ans buy a ps5 as well. Got lucky on my first try. And now I'm basically playing on both.

I’m 29. I first signed up to this site when I was 22…since then I’ve finished my masters degree, moved to London & got married. Mad how time flies😶.

My first game & ‘console’ where the GameBoy Pocket & Pokémon Blue. I didn’t ask for it, but my dad just bought it for my birthday because that was the cool thing back then.
Remember that day so clearly. Waking up & my mom pulling out the GameBoy & game from the top shelf.

In the long run I’m sure they’ve regretted their decision.

The first console I bought with my own money was a PS3. Pre-owned for almost £600- which I had to return 3 times due to hardware issues.

Coming up on half a century so it'll be no surprise that I started with the Speccy (48K for Manic Miner, obviously!) then a C64 and followed on by an Amiga (still got the HD-equipped 1200 in the loft)

After then it was Playstation all the way:
PS1 - picked that up and was wowed by Tomb Raider and Wipeout in 1997?
PS2 - upgraded when the GT pack came out, and loved the top-down dungeon crawlers (Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance and Gauntlet: Dark Legacy)
PS3 - bought one when Sony announced that they stopped making the 60GB PS2 compatible ones and dropped the price to £350. Bought one and the next week they'd totally sold out!
PS4 - picked up the original in late 2014 and then got the Pro in mid-2018. Upgraded the Pro's HDD to an SSD in late 2019 and haven't looked back.
PS5? - haven't got one yet despite 2 chances to and still I'm a bit not than inspired to do so - £450 to play the same games as the Pro? I'm sure it'll eventually hit its stride but...
However, with the big birthday coming up soon, my wife has said that she'll get me a PS5 - told her good luck finding one!

He's older than me. He's older than me-e. Oh check out old Sandy. He's older than me!
Ok guess I just figured out the 72 on your username, maths innit.
Someone randomly said to me a few weeks back 'well you'll be heading towards 50 now', I replied 'yeah but so is everyone who is not yet 50!'

Yeah never had a speccy myself (though most of my friends did!) Personally went from Vic-20 to C64 to Amiga500.
My first console was something that played a bunch of pong like games - no idea what it was called. Do remember having something called a Vectrex (check it out, it was awesome) it had transparent coloured cards that your click to the monitor for faux colour games and a built in joypad.
Then onto Master System to MegaDrive, random SNES before settling on my PS fanboyism. (Maybe an occasional foray onto the greenteam rival consoles - but I don't talk about those dark days much!!)

@Voltan
I will also wish you many belated happy returns. However I'm not entirely sure what is meant by returns in this sense or how they would be happy or how that would impact someone. But there you are. And yeah you should buy yourself a game.

@Sorteddan Ha ha! Yep, at the end of May I hit the big 5-0 (not Hawaii)

My brother and I had one of the those 'pong' consoles too, played tennis, football (all looked the bloody same) and had a hard wired light gun thing that rarely worked!

After that it was a 48K Spectrum, C64, Amiga 600 (the little portable one) and then the A1200 which I wrote my university thesis on (using Wordsworth!) The A1200 got expanded with a Blizzard(?) 68030 50Mhz with an extra 16Mb of fast RAM and has a massive 340Mb hard drive inside!

Traded in the original PS at Game for a PS2 - said they weren't interested in the old ones (wanted the PSOne models) but then they took my pristine one out of it's pristine box with all the original packaging and so on and suddenly seemed much happier to take it!

PS2 got traded in against a fat boy 60GB PS3 that lasted about 5 and a half years before the dreaded 'pop' sound and the little flashing yellow light. I originally replaced it with the Super Slim but that was cost cutting too far (noisy disc drive and used to fall over when trying to change disc!) and managed to track down a 25xx series which is widely regarded as being the best Slim. Still in use and quiet today!

I remember the Vectrex but didn't own one - wasn't that the only console with vector graphics rather than a pixel display??

@sanderson72
Yes indeed, every game was pretty much just white lines! It was a monitor with built in console and joypad. One of my biggest gaming regrets was not keeping hold of it, as it was self contained it would still function today if in good repair. Think it got sold for a few quid at a car boot sale!
