@leucocyte This is incorrect. There are two Control releases in next two months, Feb is the digital upgrade ps5 version, March is the Physical Disc upgrade ps5 version.
As far as I am aware you can play Control PS4 on PS5 right now if you wish.
I think a few people are missing the point here. It isn't the same as buy a game that then is cheaper/free later, it is that the company kept saying you needed to buy it to play it on PS5 so people who were unhappy about having already bought it for PS4, now had to buy it again, so took advantage of it being cheap and bought it ahead of time.
I did this, I bought it in November. I have not installed it so I have not played it because I bought it specifically to get access to the PS5 version. This is on top of the fact I already paid for the game on PS4 AND both the DLCs. Completed and platinumed.
Now the price I paid was £16 which under the circumstances of buy something then it is made cheaper/free to me has always been not a major problem. It happens, I accept that. The problem for me here is that I only bought it because I was encouraged to by the devs/distributer. I was encouraged to spend money that I did not need to but was told that I would need to. To be fair, remove that one aspect and I wouldn't care.
EDIT: Apparently Sony are giving refunds even outside their 14 day term as a friend who bought at the same time has just got his. Alas, it seems I did actually hit that download button so Sony say my request was declined. Terms are terms but the sour taste is still there.
@get2sammyb Worth updating that at least one person has got a refund outside the 14 day period having not downloaded the game (he bought in November 2020) ?
