Re: $70 Games Are Just a Phase, Believes Saber Interactive CEO

I do not expect game prices to go down personally, and I expect game delivery services such as PS Plus and GamePass to increase in price.

The developers will need to look at more sustainable ways to build games, which is why so many drop their own engines and use Unreal or unity. Sustainability also seems to be a focus for those companies producing engines.

That said, I don’t think more sustainable development, if it even is achievable, will lead to lower prices games.

@Ludacritz do we know that wasn’t Blizzard leadership chasing trends in mobile gaming etc though. The monetisation and move towards ‘games as a service’ could have happened without Activision or Kotick forcing that on Blizzard. Arguably they were moving towards that sort of model with World of Warcraft and it’s recurring subscription well before Activision entered the picture and the evolution of that in the past decade could well be driven by Blizzard rather than or just as much as Activision.

There was signs before the merger that they may not be the same company that had put out Star Craft, WC1-3 and Diablo 2 over a span of a few years earlier.

Re: Poll: Was The Last of Us - Episode 3 the Best One Yet?

I liked the episode even if I can see the argument that it didn’t progress the story lots. It felt like fan service to me and to that end I think it did a good job of changing up what happens in the game while not changing Bill in anyway that’s inconceivable compared to what we saw in game.

Very much changes the dynamic between Frank and Bills relationship though so far as the last period of Franks life is concerned. Also think it changes how Frank is presented, however light it is in the original off screen presence in the game. I can’t imagine the character we saw on screen would ever write the note that Frank leaves for Bill in game. Also wasn’t prepared for Bill going with Frank and had assumed that Joel would arrive to a bitter and alone Bill. Worked well anyway I think.

Don’t see why a lot of what happens in Bills town in the game can’t still happen in later episodes, without Bill being there of course for banter.
