@manu0 Lol what do you want a "controller" to be, a Wii remote and nunchuck? Idk about you but I prefer not to have to adapt to something vastly different that does the same thing I've been using for over a decade. If it's got dual analog sticks what can you really innovate that's as comfortable and practical? They already showed you'll be able to dissemble it and rearrange the sticks/buttons, and adjust the triggers sensitivity (like a scuff) when they made the jump from dual shock 3 to ds4 the controller grew exponentially, Bluetooth, touchpad, higher quality sticks, buttons, triggers, modern USB cable for 2013(micro USB) and added a share button to directly record/upload/update. How isn't that innovation? If it isn't broken, don't fix it. Just improve, upgrade, and use higher quality materials.
@redd214 Gotcha. Makes more sense. I have a box full of cables ( I feel like many gamers never throw out cables unless they break, just in case we need them haha) but yes, you're right. I also have many devices that use usb-c. I do have an old 2.0 for Wii/wiiu pro controller and micro for xbox/PS4. But the same argument could be made for Apple making proprietary cables that are garbage. At least PS didn't do that nonsense. All next gen consoles will support usb-c or even the next evolution of charging when the time comes. Meanwhile, the Nintendo switches / pro that comes out in 2020-2021 will still use USB-c. while Microsoft and PS will adapt to the next level to ensure long term relevance.
@koaeinferno Way to troll. I have both consoles and the dual shock is far superior in terms of quality, rechargable out of the box, Bluetooth (Xbox one s has it though), and better anolog sticks, d-pad, and triggers. The only thing the Xbox controller has is better texture on the sticks. Sure, might be subjective but I don't think so. I have owned the PS4 since launch and haven't gone through the issues of my nearly 2 year old Xbox one-s. From stick drift, A-X buttons sticking and shoulder buttons not registering.. To say you'd only buy a console because of a controller is absolutely asinine. Buy a decent third party controller then ya bum.
@redd214 the only devices You have? Like personally? If not that is Ludacris. My Xbox one s also shares micro USB. Hell the Wii u pro controller uses USB 2.0 like an IDIOT. So really, the switch is the only device (console) that uses USB c. Since it's the only 'new' console since 2017.
