Re: PS5 Is the Only Console with a Proper Physical Copy of Cronos: The New Dawn

@RainbowGazelle Your comment was about Switch 2 current eShop closing and key cards becoming useless, and saying how Wii to Wii U shops were already down as an example of how fast Nintendo dropped them.

Key cards won't become useless for at least 20 years, which is the thing we were commenting about.

Also: if you buy a physical 3DS or Wii U game that needed an Day 1 update for working, guess what?, you can still download it. There are very few exceptions where the update was treated as a separated title, but again, very few of them are treated that way.

There's also no way to say Xbox or Playstation will remove redownloads on a whim. Nintendo hasn't removed so far a 19-20 year old console from redownloading digital games, so you can't just put them as example because they haven't removed redownloads at all in any of their past 3 generations consoles.

@RainbowGazelle you can still, legally, redownload the games you bought prior to the shops closing in all of them: Wii, DSi, Wii U and 3DS. They haven't closed support for redownloading content previously acquired. You just can't buy new games.

Taking the Wii as example, which is almost 20 years old, you would be able to redownload key card data at least for the next 20 years, which is good enough.
