What people are unhappy with is being deceived and lied to about the free upgrade path for the PS5. It was made abundantly clear there would be no free upgrade path and that we would have to pay for Ultimate Edition for it.
Then it's given away for free, giving a free upgrade path.
It's not so much about buying a game that goes on sale or goes free the next week, that's just bad luck. It's about the deceptive messaging from the developer to get money out of people for what is essentially an update.
