It's as much about piracy countermeasurments here like it's about child protection on the internet with the acts that governments are trying to push on us. I wish you all... wisdom.
You own your games only when they're in physical form and fully on media. Like most of the games for Nintendo Switch (I don't own Sony's console). You own GOG games when it comes to PC, because no one will take them away from you after you'll download them (afterwards it's your reponsibility to make copies). Same with physical movies and music. Everything else digital? You don't own it, never did and never will.
Sony after raising prices on PS5 (especially PS5 Pro) is doing this now. I own the stuff thay I buy (and I do whatever I want with it), always, and I'm avoiding companies that are making it impossible or are trying to make it difficult. Vote with your wallets.
