@Octane Im with you on your post. Went and rewatched some of Kojima's old teaser trailers. There's something so peculiar and beautiful about them. Definitely crossing fingers for gameplay just so people have a solid foundation of what the game will be, while still be an experience for a lot of people to sink their teeths into.
I'd be lying if I said this is one heck of an ambitious game, but then I'd be lying too if I said I'm not looking forward to it. I have faith in Kojima and his team at work. I genuinely like the teasers because they invoke a bit of story-telling here and there.
I do agree the development cycle has been nothing short of long and a gameplay reveal trailer sounds about nice right now, but I'd be a Konami rep, if I said to just release the game and/or quit; which Im glad he did alongside with some of his old crew.
After Konami destroyed hope of there being a Silent Hills game, its been 'dead' quiet and has left most gamers stranded after the incident. haha-
Dont get me wrong, I'd rather have a methodical and tread lightly release of DS than some half-baked mess of a montage that still shows gameplay, but falls flat on its feet, (Cough Anthem, Coughing FO:76) Or a "brand new game" year after year.
"DS" kinda falls suit alongside Last of Us (2013) with a long dev cycle of its upcoming sequel LOS part 2 (2019) and with successive titles like Amazing Spiderman or GOTY God of War, Im more than confident this will be a good game whether that's up to debate is a matter of opinion and interests. I still find hope that games are not just a cash grab and can be something great for gamers everywhere. You can do this KJ productions!
