I think if there was something more than Near that was really exciting for 3G, more people would be inclined to use it. GPS is neat, and talking to your friends way from home is nifty, but honestly there really hasn't been any reason other than my phone being stolen for me to want to activate my 3G on my Vita. That being said, I would totally be interested in a 4G LTE model if that meant I could download games from the store over my network.
I love my Vita, but I can agree that memory is just too expensive. I went all out and ordered the pre-release pack that we got a week early here in the US with a 32GB, so I'm willing to spend the money. Unfortunately for Sony, most consumers don't have that kind of money to burn, or at least a desire to burn that kind of money.
I wish they would come out with a 64GB card at the current 32GB price and lower the price of the existing cards accordingly. I've run out of room on my big card and it's upsetting having to delete games from my system, even if I have them backed up on my PS3, it's still an inconvenience.
