I think it will be "Mortal Kombat" only. I've met Ed Boon one day in person and we played some rounds of Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe. He did not say it but you could feel how uncomfortable he felt about that game. They were not allowed to create that brutal fatalities and everything was so clean washed. He likes these original Mortal Kombat ingredients. So here comes my interpretation:
Mortal Kombat 11 already looked awesome but with a new engine and the potential of the current gen they will be able to bring a much more realistic and in that context mature and brutal look. I don't know if anybody can follow that idea but when the original Mortal Kombat was released it felt ultra realistic and real. I think nobody who was not playing video games during that time can understand that from todays perspective.
The new Mortal Kombat will go exactly that way imho. It's like Diablo 4 compared to Diablo 3. The series left this path one day and now they are getting back to what made the original game that unique. And that's why they want to call it "Mortal Kombat", I guess. It will have that original look and feel again. In times of a new Tekken and a new Street Fighter Game where every game gets promoted with high marketing budgets that's how you have to position a Mortal Kombat Game.
@naruball I am living in Cyprus too. I've ordered my VR2 in Germany (where I was born) and I will bring it to Cyprus from there. I think it will be hard to find in Cyprus. Would be cool to get in touch with you.
