I struggle with this new version of Sony which seems intent on wringing as much cash out of its fanbase as it can. I get that it doesn't have the capital that MS have behind them, and so perhaps can't afford to compete on the value proposition. But in that case it needs to find other ways to compete. The issues with storage, the indie expose...so much is adding up against Sony, that for them to appear to rely solely on their exclusives for goodwill, and then charge for them in a way that could be perceived as predatory, is utterly ludicrous.
Having been a very loyal PS user since PS1, XsX is now my main console. I'll still buy the exclusives (though probably not at launch) and will otherwise enjoy what gamepass offers me. Been having a blast playing gears, ori and Forza Horizon 4.
The value proposition is truly insane. I bought two years of Xbox live gold on eBay for £80, then paid £15 to MS to convert those to two years of gamepass ultimate. That works out to £3.80 a month...despite that I'd prefer to "own" my games, I can't pass up this sort of value, particularly when Sony seem happy to continue to use up their well deserved goodwill. Also, as an aside, I can't believe how good quick resume is as a feature. I thought it was a gimmick, totally wrong.
