Re: The Division 2 Dates Its First DLC Episode, Doesn't Go Down Well with Fans

I play on PC. Not once does this article mention that the Test server isn't permanently live. Ubisoft only make the server live when they have something to test. So usually when a title update is imminent. They server is often only live for a week at most. I played the content available. And unsurprisingly it was filled with bugs. Lots of geometry to get stuck on. Missions not working properly. Missions not starting.

What the article also implies that the test server is entirely free. Not the case. You need to own a copy of the game just like everyone else. The PTS is only available on PC because ubisoft do not need to go through any verification by Microsoft and Sony, just like any retail Game. Plus the added fact that PC players are much more used to troubleshooting bugs and issues as owning a PC good enough to play games does require a little more know-how that using a console, such as knowing different graphics settings.

Ubisoft don't have to verify with any 3rd party companies. They can just put the PTS on their own client.

All PC players need to purchase the year 1 pass to play the new content early in the retail game.

Overall this article is poor journalism with a complete lack of research.
