Re: New Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Game Reportedly Real

BrightSideOfTheBrain

I am ecstatic for this. The originals were definitely my favourite games of all time, and indeed of any star wars games. I was gutted when I heard of the move to make the old Republic and experienced how limp it was because again it was another chase for MMORPGs at the expense of a true RPG for solo players. It is as if game studios forget that many RPGs were made for the recluse, for those who don't want to be sucked into combo deals but prefer to enjoy a rich narrative (unless they actively opt for multiplayer modes, as in halo when you wish to decimate your friends, or the many trolls online). The likes of fallout, the elder scrolls, vampyr, the witcher and other RPGs seems to be on the decline and its a a sad story. I've been a fan of games since I was a kid and it's quite disheartening to see now returning to it to re-connect with my old self whilst working in a heavy research career, there is so little left of the real substance in the old games. I have of course played all the oldies for nostalgia and naturally they don't all feel the same. In any event - nostalgic monologue aside - I for one am very excited for this. I hope this and Beyond Good and Evil 3 do justice to the originals and only serve to add even more depth in story and plenty of high-graphic rendered worlds adorned with a plethora of stories.
