It was sad to hear Gran Turismo 5 will release March, 2010 in Japan
Sad, but also kind of comforting — because you know Kaz Yamauchi (Polyphony honcho) and his team will be working tirelessly right up to the minute the game has to be shipped to make this the best racing game since sliced bread. In many ways, this is Polyphony's life; they live their passion and they do it best. In many instances,..
The figures are in and the news out of Tokyo is that attendance was slightly down for this year's Tokyo Game Show
While the business days remained largely unchanged, it was the weekend public attendance that saw the biggest drop with fewer people visiting the convention than previous years. The numbers will still largely impressive though with 185,030 people attending the show in total; just 9,000..
Seems like there is some bureaucracy involved in the lead up to Assassin's Creed II's plot
The trailer depicts an angry Ezio watch on as his father is sentenced to death. We're going to go out on a limb and suggest his father was wrongly sentenced death. Probably because of corruption. The trailer also features those crazy ass wings. Dude.
We've known there's been a new Yakuza coming for a while now
But now we can all finally see what it looks like via this Yakuza 4: Heir To The Dragon Tokyo Game Show trailer. And the verdict is... It looks a lot like a Yakuza game! It's hard to get excited when us Westerners are still waiting for the release of Yakuza 3. Yeah.
Stop press: Dynasty Warriors Online is making the jump to the Playstation 3
We know you're excited. To be honest there are no real details as of yet, aside from this awesome little Flash teaser website. We can infer a lot from the game's title however; it's Dynasty Warriors Online. So if you like Dynasty Warriors and the Internet, well, hallelujah.
Well this has taken bloody long enough
We've been expecting this for months. Sony have taken the idea of Playstation Home and scaled it down for the PSP — readers, meet Playstation Room. Playstation Room will be added to the PSP's XMB and will offer a complete digital service for designing 3D avatars and spaces, along with blog, album, group...
com</a> have discovered a little tid-bit as part of a TGS fact sheet — LittleBigPlanet PSP is due to release in the East this December. We're still listed as an "autumn" release here in Europe, hopefully Sony can provide a few more concrete details over the coming months.
A neat feature that is underused on the Playstation 3 is the ability to upload gameplay videos directly to YouTube
It's something that would surely see a lot of use in, for example, Gran Turismo 5. Thankfully, the feature has been confirmed for the game during the Tokyo Game Show. Expect to see the availability of uploaded Gran Turismo videos get unnatural levels of scrupulation by various fanboys..
We might not have White Knight Chronicles yet, but that hasn't stopped Level 5 from teasing sequel White Knight Chronicles: Awakening Of Light and Darkness
There's no real details on the game as of yet, although there is a trailer in the wilderness at the moment that we're desperately trying to track down. Until then, know that a sequel to WKC is on the way.
So, we're going to assume if you're sitting here reading this that you're not at TGS
Thus, you're probably yet to check out Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker's latest demo right? Worry not, IGN have your back. All you need to do is download the file from their website and copy it across to your PSP's "Game" folder. Make sure you have the latest firmware etc. Sorted! Whaddaya think?
Invizimals is an upcoming PSP game that looks really awesome
It requires the PSP camera to work. For some reason the PSP Go has the wrong connection to add a camera. What's the solution? Put this terrible thing around your PSP Go. Goodness me, we've never seen anything more hideous than these shots discovered by Joystiq. Why Sony, why!? There has to be a better way of getting Invizimals on the PSP..
We know very little about Final Fantasy XIV other than it's on the Playstation 3 (and PC) and is an MMO
Still, this trailer gives us a little artistic context, showing some of the world Eorzea. Apparently the place has lots of food. Oh and trading card games. Very, very important are trading card games. Did we mention that this trailer has really epic music too? 'Cos it does.
The Playstation Motion Controller is still on track for release in 2010
When Sony announced these things at E3 2009 we kinda expected the tentative date (Spring 2010) to change. But it's remained pretty consistent throughout. And now we have an idea of the kind of software in development for the new controllers. Some of the titles are going to be patched updates of existing games, but as you can..
During a press conference at Tokyo Game Show today Sony announced that an updated version of Resident Evil 5 will launch on the Playstation 3 with updated Playstation Motion Controller support
The title Resident Evil 5: Director's Cut will launch this Spring with a bunch of new features alongside the new Motion Control support. Which we actually think will make the game a bit easier to control..
Well it's not much, but you don't need to see much when it comes to The Last Guardian
This game truly looks to be something entirely new and completely special. In this new trailer and behind the scenes video, Fumito Ueda talks about the process of developing the game and some of the design choices behind it. Fascinating stuff.
The PS3 looks hella good in silvery-cream and pink
This new Playstation 3 design is sure to shift a helluva lot of systems in Japan. It's easy to see why aswell. The thing looks flippin' gorgeous. The bundle will cost 41,600Yen, and will be available to tie-in with the launch of Final Fantasy XIII. Also of note, Final Fantasy VIII has just gone up on the Japanese store for 1,500Yen.
We guess a tad disappointingly, Gran Turismo 5 has not met the Christmas 09 release date we have been speculating for ages
In fact, Kazunori Yamauchi announced at TGS today that Gran Turismo 5 will launch in March 2010 over in Japan. There's no other information just yet, but it's a bit disappointing for Sony's Christmas sales, which we expected to thunder with GT5. We'll see.
So you're going to need razor sharp eyes to see it
You're going to need to have a whole lot of hope on your side. And you're going to need to keep your fingers crossed for the next 11 or so hours, but we swear we just saw The Last Guardian in this TGS sneak peak video from GameVideos. Dude. It has to be there right? Right? We'll find out shortly.

Fanta's a nice drink
But honestly, we can't say we've had any of it for about... ooh... three or four years. Coca-Cola want to change that, by marketing their drink within the upcoming Fantasy Phantasy Star Portable 2. Fanta-people will also be at Tokyo Game Show next week, handing out goodies for those who check out Phantasy Star Portable 2. They'll probably be giving out Fanta. Just a guess.
Who loves teaser websites? Not us
But still. Thanks to SEGA's latest teaser website we have an announcement of an announcement to tell you about. You'll be finding out about Yakuza 4 on September 24th (note: that's the same day that TGS 09 kicks off). Chances of a Western release are slim, but still, we can wait to find out more about a game that we'll never play. Because it's Yakuza y'all. YAKUZA..
Sony have announced their Tokyo Game Show 09 presence minus those titles that are, well, yet to be announced
The list is long and exciting, with the promise of two unannounced titles for the PS3 and a further three for PSP. Sadly there's no sign of The Last Guardian on the lineup. PlayStation 3 FIFA 10 World Class Soccer Lost Planet 2 Shin Sangoku...
Home hasn't stopped growing since the day it launched roughly a year ago
People still base their experiences on Home by those initial few disappointing months, but it really has hit its stride in recent times. A report via Andriasang.com continues to highlight the growth of Sony's Social Networking platform, listing a number of new features announced at CEDEC 2009. One new feature announced is the..
Speaking with Multiplayer

Yamauchi also talked about the leaked feature list, claiming Polyphony Digital are waiting to talk about it but the list is true. Finally, Kazunori Yamauchi claimed that damage would..
"We'll be making an announcement in a few weeks," said Square Enix gaffer Yoichi Wada regarding the release of Final Fantasy XIII
We'll pause while you people compose yourselves. ... That's right, Square Enix's masterpiece is likely to be dated at late September's Tokyo Game Show. For Japan, the launch of Final Fantasy XIII will be the biggest thing for the Playstation 3, where the game is still..
The Tokyo Game Show kicks off from September 24th to the 27th
Of course Sony are going to be there. And we'll be covering their every move. Most of which will probably come from company head Kaz Hirai. Interestingly the keynote has already been entitled "New Tactics For 2009"; if Sony's new pricing plans don't come into fruition at next months...
