Cold Symmetry has announced and launched a new Mortal Shell 2 update all at once that enhances the Souls-like with more content, items, and base game tweaks. The free patch is out now on PS5.

Dubbed the Rotten Autumn update, the trailer above teases what's in store, but for a complete rundown, here are the big additions to the game:

• Photo Mode
• New alternative soundtrack by Rotting Christ’s Sakis Tolis
• 15 new Dungeons
• All new Shell Shades for each Shell
• 10 new Tarstones
• Sheep-specific Tarstone
• New lighting Presets for Nightmode
• Overkill graphics settings
• Harbinger pumpkin helmet
• Impervious Lute skin and additional Lute tracks
• The ghost of a lost Shell haunts the land and offers cryptic notes
• Additional polishes and bug fixes

This is certainly shaping up to be a huge content add-on for Mortal Shell 2, as it now features more music and 15 extra dungeons. The base game shipped with 36 dungeons, so this is almost a 50% increase in the number of dungeons the title has.

Tarstones, meanwhile, offer perks to your weapons. You can look forward to 10 new ones having applied the patch, and the trailer reveals one that turns you into a sheep! Elsewhere, you've also got some extra customisation options for your Shell.

As an aside, if you're a PS Plus Premium member, Mortal Shell 2 recently received a free Trial for subscribers.

All these additions will only work to further improve a Souls-like sequel that's gone down a treat with those who have played it. With a score of 82 on Metacritic, we gave the game an 8/10 rating in our Mortal Shell 2 PS5 review.
