If you’re not playing Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, then to quote Nintendo exec Reggie Fils-Aime: what’s wrong with you?

I know there are contentious issues behind how SNK is getting funded, but as a fighter, this game is pretty unprecedented.

It’s been adding new characters at an outrageous pace, and its roster is about to get even better with the addition of Tekken 8’s Reina.

At least, fans think they’ve spotted the purple-haired Mishima family member in a new “when destinies collide” trailer – that’s definitely her silhouette in the background.

According to the game’s roadmap, she’ll be the sixth and final addition to the Season 3 roster, following Laocorn in November.

But long before then, two Tokyo Revengers cameos will take the spotlight: Manjiro ‘Mikey’ Sano and Ken ‘Draken’ Ryuguji are arriving on 22nd October, alongside some game updates.

Here’s what the press release reveals:

“Mikey and Draken faithfully bring the world and spirit of Tokyo Revengers to life through character-authentic moves, animations, and special intros, while seamlessly integrating with Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves‘ unique gameplay systems. The result is a thrilling crossover packed with intense, action-filled battles. For the Japanese voice track, the anime’s original cast returns, with Yu Hayashi as Mikey and Katsuya Fukunishi as Draken. Their familiar performances and dynamic chemistry further bring this dream collaboration to life.”

Like most Fatal Fury DLC, there’ll be arcade arcs for both Mikey and Draken, while the characters will get a shared Episodes of South Town campaign, involving Krauser and Rock.

The support for this game since it was released a little over a year ago has been unrivalled, and I wonder whether SNK is going to stick with it into 2027, or move on once Year 3 has concluded.

It feels like there’s still a little more mileage left in this game to me.
