Saros' Free Zenith Update Adds Boss Rush, New Game Plus, More Later This Year 1

Developer Housemarque has unveiled Zenith, a free update coming to its excellent shooter Saros.

Coming later in 2026, the update adds a whole bunch of new content and features that seem designed for replayability once you've conquered the main experience.

Here's the announcement:

Overlord Rush is basically a boss rush mode in which you fight all the big baddies back-to-back. This mode features online leaderboards, so it's a score-based mode to test your skills and compare them against other players.

Next up is Eclipse Layers, which is Saros' version of New Game+ mode.

Once you've finished the game the first time, you can go back to the beginning and play through a tougher version of the game. Eclipse Layers allows you to further progress Arjun's capabilities and equip new Carcosan Modifiers — plus there are new secrets to discover and Trophies to earn.

Finally, the Zenith update adds more accessibility features to the game. These include high-contrast visuals, gyro aiming, and a slow game speed option.

It all sounds great to me, and a perfect excuse to dive back in. There's no firm date yet, but I imagine it isn't too far off.
