Marvel's Wolverine Offers Up One Last Trailer Before Launch on PS5

I saw someone say that this game looks 'corporate', and I think that's the best way I can explain how I feel about what I've seen every time they've shown it.

Really safe with mass market appeal, super accessible and optimised to perfection. These aren't bad things but I can't help but feel underwhelmed.

@Atreus97 This exactly ☑️

@Atreus97 What exactly did you expect from a Wolverine game?

@Shepherd_Tallon
Yeah, I'm sure millions of people will share your sentiment and that's awesome.

@DennisReynolds
Something darker, grittier, and I guess less 'modern Marvel'. Watch the initial teaser trailer from 4 years ago, then watch everything they've shown since. There's a difference in the tone and presentation.

Still looks good to me!

I’m hoping they still have some surprises for us b/c while it looks really good I don’t feel in too much of a rush to play it.

It would be nice if they let us play as other characters different from Wolverine. Gambit throwing playing cards, Colossus punching through walls, Jean moving stuff with her mind. Wolverine is Wolverine. He’s great. He’s my favorite. But he’s basically a 1 trick pony. And he even admits it in a way, best there is at what I do, but what I do isn’t very nice. The change of outfits from street clothes to costume does help make things look a little different, but Logan is still basically Wolverine. It’s not like the difference between Peter Parker and Spider-Man.

If you only play as Wolverine I’ll probably wait, just in case. And it’s not like any games released finished these days anyway, there’s almost always something.

Been on an X-men binge the last few months so definitely gonna pick this up day one. Also managed to secure the faceplates and controller

It's looking better and better, and the Wolverine Omnibus I'm reading is getting better and better too. He's such a good character, the Weapon X series is brilliant too.

Do they get a bonus for designing unappealing characters?
I cannot stand the Psylocke design, at least the gameplay looks good.

I think it looks cool, I can’t believe people think it looks bad (everyone is entitled to their opinion to be fair), definitely one to play and make your own mind up with I think. One of those games that even it’s its not amazing will probably still be fun to play through as the characters and story etc can carry a game like this.

@Krlozgod There's Psylocke in the trailer? I've only catched Jean Grey, Mystique, and Lady Deathstrike.

The initial trailer, you mean this one?

The initial trailer doesn't look "darker and grittier" and the current trailer still have the same vibe. I think you mixed up with Logan movie.

@PuppetMaster you are right and that is Lady Deathstrike, I got them confused because of the color of her suit in the game and the sword she uses in the new trailer, I did not saw the claws.

this has looked bland ever since that first presentation a few months ago. wish insomniac took more risks

On the one hand it's looking fairly "by the numbers" starring one of the least interesting X-Men (and X-Men adaptions making Wolverine the centre of the universe has been annoying me for a couple of decades now).
On the other hand, it's Insomniac. Even when an Insomniac game is disappointing (hi Spider-Man 2!) it's still really good. Insomniac don't miss.
But also, Insomniac's greatest strength is weapon design- whether it be Spidey's gadgets or the ludicrous guns in Ratchet and Clank or Sunset Overdrive, Insomniac make really fun to use weapons. Not sure we'll be seeing much of that in the Clawy McClawface game.

@Atreus97 may be different title and skins, but for me this just feels like another safe sequel to Spiderman. Just less exciting and less original. All of this we already seen in several of their games.

To me it lacks many things and definitely is not day1 purchase. Rather wait for preowned copy or huge discount.

Yeah I feel like I'm Insomniac-Marvel-Action-Game'd-out after three AAA Spider-Man games — everything looks so cinematic and polished, which is great, but it just feels like I'd be constantly clicking between cinematic kill to cinematic kill for half the game.

@Quintumply If you were one of those inside bettors on one of those “we're not a betting site” like Polymarket or Kalshi would you be more likely to predict Pushsquare publishes a Wolverine game review article in 5 days or an article apologizing no review b/c you guys didn’t get a review copy of the game?

I’m kinda torn on this one. You guys do seem to be passed over for a lot of review code, but this is a pretty big game, and you guys are pretty big. Can’t decide.
