Trophies Surprise Added to PS1 Shooter 2 Years After PS5 Release 1

While I’d broadly agree Sony could be adding retro games to its PS Plus Premium tier faster, I think the support has generally been good.

And while Trophies are not mandatory, the platform holder is still porting them into past releases, like the PS1’s Star Wars: Rebel Assault II: The Hidden Empire.

This game was surprisingly updated with a Platinum on both PS5 and PS4 over the weekend, despite launching into PS Plus Premium over two years ago.

If you don’t want to subscribe to Sony’s most expensive membership, an a la carte version is also available for $4.99/£3.99.

The Platinum itself looks pretty easy, you just need to beat the campaign, which takes about three hours.

You’ll need to achieve 80% shooting accuracy on some of the stages, as well as avoid flight errors on others – but Sony’s emulator features a rewind mode, so it should be pretty straightforward to clean up any mistakes.

In fact, 20% of players who’ve installed the patch have already attained the Platinum, so this shouldn’t give you too much trouble.

Are you going to return to this title to earn its newly added Platinum pot? Let me know below.
