Mewgenics, the Acclaimed Cat-Breeding Strategy Game, Comes to PS5 Next Month 1

One of the most highly rated games of 2026 is Mewgenics, from the makers of The Binding of Isaac and The End Is Nigh.

It's been a PC exclusive ever since its initial launch in February, but now, it's finally been formally announced for PS5, with a release and all.

Mewgenics hits Sony's console on 8th September, 2026:

If you've not heard of it, Mewgenics is a roguelite turn-based strategy game in which you breed cats to send out on missions.

During a run, you'll power up your squad of kitties with hundreds of possible upgrades and skills, and those that successfully return home can be bred. If you're lucky, their best traits will be passed down to their offspring, theoretically meaning you'll amass better and stronger felines over time.

The tone is intended to be darkly humorous in a similar fashion to Isaac, so if you're into that style, Mewgenics is probably up your street.
