After a prolonged period of time in early access development, Palworld is ready for its full, 1.0 launch at last.
Arriving today, 10th July 2026, the survival/crafting/monster collecting game has been playable on PS5 since September 2024, but it's now been updated to its complete form.
And it's a gigantic update. Developer Pocketpair has shared the change log for the game's 1.0 launch via Steam, and it's a massive rundown of what's being added and improved.
I'm gonna provide the cliff notes version, highlighting the most major changes for Palworld's 1.0 launch:
- 72 new Pals, for a total of 287 collectable creatures
- New Awakening mechanic "that lets you strengthen your Pals even further"
- New Mutation mechanic; "breeding has a low chance of producing a Pal stronger than the normal breeding result"
- A whole new area: Sunreach, an archipelago of floating islands
- New things to explore across the world map: ancient ruins, islands, watchtowers, settlements
- Story and main missions have been "significantly reworked"
- New sub-missions, NPCs, and journals
- New Partner Skills and a major rework of existing ones
- Improvements to riding controls
- New equipment and weapons added
- New armour, accessories, ores, and more
- New base building parts and furniture
- Reworked Raids
- Many improvements to multiplayer
- Widespread balance overhaul, including experience gain, capture probability, gold, and much more
- Sound and visual overhaul
- Myriad bug fixes
It's mad how much is included in the 1.0 version. There are a lot of details to pore over in the full notes; from an outsider's perspective, it looks like Palworld will feel like practically a new game.
Pocketpair has also announced the price of the game will remain the same as it always has, despite all this extra work. The game costs $29.99/£24.49, and won't be increasing with the 1.0 launch.
So, it all sounds pretty positive, then. Are you jumping into Palworld now it's reached 1.0? Tell us in the comments section below.

Too many games right now. But eventually...
Bought it a while ago, played for a bit and was bored to death with the tasks I was required to do (collect x, build y, etc). I'm hoping they've made some significant changes.
It'll have to wait for PS+ for me. I'll check out reviews of 1.0 on PS5 though
They pretty much remade the entire game, its an insane 1.0 update.
This might be the first Pokemon game I’ve ever played. 😂
Ok joking aside I am considering it. The $30 price is nice. Probably the main thing stopping me is the 4 free to start games I’m playing so I really don’t have the time. Or the need to spend the money. Getting $50 Splatoon Raiders for my birthday in a couple weeks, so that will do me for awhile, when I have the time.
