Messhof, the developer behind the Nidhogg games as well as the more recent Wheel World, has announced its latest project: Blood Dungeon.
This smaller game is described as a mix of Vampire Survivors and Spelunky — in other words, it's a bullet heaven, auto-attacking game, but it's also a 2D platformer.
You run around maze-like stages as increasingly dangerous hordes of enemies chase you down. You gradually gather various weapons that fire off automatically, and your goal is simply to stay alive.

There's a constant need to move around, running, jumping, and climbing through each level to keep the run going. While you do that, you need to collect blood, bones, and gold to increase your power.
The game will feature several playable characters with different traits, six big stages to explore, and hundreds of enemy types, weapons, and quests.
It looks pretty silly, but that addictive loop that Vampire Survivors introduced us to is here, and I expect it'll get its hooks in me all the same.
The game is coming to PC and consoles this summer, so it's not far off at all. Are you interested in Blood Dungeon? Tell us in the comments section below.
