Developer 4A Games has shared a fresh look at Metro 2039, its upcoming new entry in the Metro series, and it's looking very dark and very spooky.
Check out the new trailer below, which includes some more footage of gameplay:
The original game, Metro 2033, was a linear survival horror FPS, and it seems that 2039 has a similar approach.

At least, that's the impression I get as I watch the new trailer, which is really leaning into the game's dark, gritty setting and creepy environments.
The video ends with a release window of February 2027, so there's still a while to go before we're all playing this one.

Looks great. I like metro games, but the exodus was definitely the best in the series. Hopefully they will follow up with the great work..just thinking of exodus makes me want to get back on the train.
@Yor-sama February this year was also stacked, also April and this July seems even more stacked than September by a lot.
Kind of disappointed they are taking cues from 2033 which was the weakest metro game and after exodus it feels like going backwards regardless though it’s one of my favorite series so I’ll be there day one
I really hope the gameplay is less clunky compared to Exodus. I love that game, but my God the turning speed and jumping are just awful.
I'm ready for this but it seems like ur character is doing this solo like is there any supporting cast 🤔
