Crimson Desert PS5

Pearl Abyss has confirmed Crimson Desert sales have reached six million since the ambitious open worlder's release in March 2026.

Having instantly sold two million copies on release day, it managed to sell five million units within its first month on the market. Now, as it nears three months of availability, the total sales stand at six million. The title has been transformed during that time, as the developer puts out weekly updates to improve the experience and expand it with new content.

"We are sincerely grateful to players around the world for helping Crimson Desert achieve meaningful success in the global market despite being a new IP," said CEO Jin-young Heo in a press release. "To provide more enjoyable and better experiences, Pearl Abyss will continue moving forward and taking on new challenges."

Speaking of which, the studio recently confirmed an expansion is in the works alongside more free content updates that'll improve the story, combat, gameplay, and implement a cross-save feature. As for the DLC drop, it's being designed as a "meaningful addition" to the experience.

Then, on social media, the official Crimson Desert account thanked "every Greymane who has stepped into Pywel and experienced the world of Crimson Desert in their own way". Are you one of them? Let us know in the comments below.
