Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve, the most exciting game of 2026 to those with taste, just got dated with an exciting new trailer.
Bandai Namco is clearing the runway with its action-packed fighter jet game on 2nd October, 2026, and it looks fantastic:
Set largely aboard the Endurance, an undermanned aircraft carrier doing its bit in the war to take back Usea, you play as a pilot forced to adopt the Wings of Theve name — a heroic legend fabricated to boost morale.
As with all previous AC games, the main attraction is its campaign, which will no doubt be stuffed with varied missions against other pilots, ground targets, and larger-than-life super weapons that are straight out of sci-fi.
AC8's campaign also seems to have a bigger focus on story and characters, and there's clearly a lot of inspiration here from Top Gun Maverick.
I can't wait to play this one, and luckily we now know when it's due. It's just unfortunate it's coming out days after the busiest September of all time.
