This latest peek at Echoes of Aincrad: Sword Art Online certainly confirms one thing: the game's looking better every time we see it.
We were left intrigued by the title's initial reveal, which we wrote up a whole preview on β but what we saw was quite clearly an earlier build. What we're seeing now is much more polished in terms of visuals and user interface, which is obviously a good sign.
While this new trailer is a little on the short side, it shows off the action RPG rather well, with a mix of battle and exploration.

In case you haven't been keeping up, Echoes of Aincrad is a much more deliberate Sword Art Online game, forcing you to utilise a range of defensive techniques if you want to survive its weighty combat.
You also get to play as your own custom character, and the title's promising a darker overall story and tone. We think that, in a lot of ways, this kind of reworked focus is probably what the franchise needs to push forward.
Echoes of Aincrad: Sword Art Online is still on track for a 10th July release date on PS5, but how's your interest holding up? Choose a partner and venture into the comments section below.
