Saros PS5 Marketing in Full Swing as Sony Drops Yet Another Trailer

PlayStation wants to make absolutely sure you've seen at least a bit of Saros gameplay in the lead-up to its PS5 release this April, so it's been flooding YouTube with new trailers. And here's another one, this time blending footage with some quotes taken from the recent round of media previews. Catch it above.

Anyone familiar with Saros and how it's building on Returnal will find the trailer fairly unsurprising — it blends more intense action scenes together, showing off its bullet-hell scenarios as protagonist Arjun investigates the planet of Carcosa.

Finally Sony remembers how promotions work, no shade to Yotei (in fact I love that game) but they got way more trailers then Saros has gotten, either way I can see Saros popping off thanks to the ground work Returnal layed.

@Oram77 I mean this doesn't have anywhere near the name recognition that Yotei went in with — and all because of Tsushima. So it shouldn't surprised anyone the marketing budget is way smaller. Yotei was supposed to sell 5-10 million copies over a life span. I don't think this will even sell half that, even if I also don't think Yotei will ever hit it's desired number either.

@LordAinsley If it isn't significantly easier than Returnal, it won't find the success uppers are looking for. Returnal was highly praised by the games community. But we know that is not nearly enough in 2026. I think a lot of people will wait on the fence to see if the game is actually approachable for normies.

The real point of the question was to establish whether the review would be out prior to the release of the game, @Oram77. What I would also add is that I have only just got my Pro and switched to gaming on there instead of my Xbox, so I'm not so acquainted with how things are done here in comparison to Pure Xbox, who do not review games all that often...

@RyPal everything ive heard is that they've made it more accessible with shorter runs and more checkpoints as well as a more clear story, but you can still attach modifiers to make your runs harder.

I'm hoping this balance works for both and allows the game success

I feel like the only person on the planet that isn't excited for this game and that didn't like Returnal. Don't get me wrong--I acknowledge it was a really good game, just not for me. I grew up playing bullet hell and shmups and was honestly kind of glad when they stopped being a thing, LOL. Anyway, I hope for those that are looking forward to this that it is excellent.
