Sony is on the verge of launching its latest PS5-exclusive first-party game, and every time we see it, we want to play it just that little bit more.
Saros launches on 30th April, the next arcade shooter from developer Housemarque, and it's looking just as aggressive and challenging as its predecessor in this brand new gameplay snippet:
While this new title stands apart from Returnal in various ways, it does inherit quite a lot in terms of the core game and its combat. That basically means Saros is going to feel amazing to play, but that it'll also be pretty darn tough.
This clip, which appears to show a boss encounter (or at least a mini-boss), is evidence of that.
While Saros has been built to be a more approachable game than Returnal on some levels, it looks like Housemarque isn't shying away from making it a challenging game to get through. Look at all those projectiles!
You're equipped with a shield in this game, but that won't always save your skin; it looks like some battles will have you constantly moving to avoid getting hit, with some pretty crazy bullet patterns keeping you on your toes.
The recent Saros previews are well worth checking out if you want to learn more about the game, but we're now just a few weeks out from being able to play ourselves.

This is my most hyped game of 2026. I'm trying to finish Grounded as fast as i can so i can prepare myself to play this one
I finally got the platinum for Returnal. I've never been more ready for this.
On the one hand, I absolutely cannot wait for this. On the other hand, it had better be a lot more than just Returnal FOR MEN™, otherwise Selene will have died for nothing and died for nothing and died for nothing and died for nothing and died for nothing and
😸
Imagine how great this would be if the developer took time to actually make well designed and thought out levels instead of the algorithm spitting out the same variations on a theme over and over again
