Asobo Studio, the developer behind Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, has announced that the promised support for PSVR2 is coming very soon indeed.

During a broader livestream covering a variety of updates on the game, the team discusses Sim Update 5, which sounds like a pretty major next step, particularly for those playing on PS5 and PSVR2.

Support for Sony's virtual reality gear is coming alongside Sim Update 5, which is scheduled to launch the week commencing 20th April (next week). So, if you've been waiting to play Flight Sim 2024 in PSVR2, there's only a matter of days left to go.

On top of that, Sim Update 5 will introduce the "first batch" of third-party content to the PS5 version's Marketplace.

The blog post explains that not everything can arrive at once, as each add-on has to go through Sony's "platform and performance" requirements. This means these items will come to the Marketplace over time as and when they're approved for release in the game.

Sim Update 5 also adds a long-requested feature, a weather radar, complete with tilt functionality.

The main attraction for many will be the PSVR2 support, of course, but it seems this impending update makes a number of exciting changes and additions for players.

There's not a concrete release date, but it has been narrowed down to next week, which means it should show up no later than Friday 24th April.
