It shouldn't come as much of a surprise to learn that Crimson Desert was one of the best-selling games on the PS Store for the month of March.
The open world action game has been the talk of the town ever since its launch, and overall it's been selling like mad; it's over 4 million copies at this point.
However, what we hadn't really considered is that March also saw the arrival of MLB The Show 26, and it's pipped Crimson Desert to the post — in North America, at least.
The baseball sim is number one, with Pearl Abyss' runaway hit settling for second.
On the European chart, it's a different story; Crimson Desert is numero uno, with MLB nowhere to be seen in the top 20.
Resident Evil Requiem puts in a good effort, coming in third on both charts.
Meanwhile, Bungie's new multiplayer shooter Marathon doesn't have the hottest debut; it's sixth in the US and 11th in Europe.

Never understood Baseball it's the American version of rounders innit?

@lazarus11 Not to mention they have to use two hands and a bigger ball. It's like lowering the difficulty down to easy mode.
Even many of us here find it incredibly boring. I know it’s huge in Japan of all places, but search me as to why 🤷♂️

@Oram77 To be fair, the MLB was founded before the equivalent rounders thing in the UK. Also the word baseball predates rounders:
"Played in England since Tudor times, it is referenced in 1744 in the children's book A Little Pretty Pocket-Book where it was called Base-Ball. The name baseball was superseded by the name rounders in England, while other modifications of the game played elsewhere retained the name baseball."
So yeah, actually rounders is the British renaming of baseball 😃 I'm not American but I did get into baseball for a bit about a decade ago.
I’ve heard it’s not even one of the better games in the series! Nice to see the Red Sox are winning tonight though, they’ve been absolutely dire.

Disappointing to see monster hunter stories 3 did not chart higher. It’s an amazing game.
