Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is continuing to add to its already large and varied roster of playable characters, today bringing Red from Angry Birds to the beloved kart racer.
It's easy to forget that SEGA acquired mobile game developer Rovio a little while back, but Red is indeed a SEGA character these days, so it makes sense for him to show up in Sonic's multi-dimensional racing game.
Red is available now, and as with all SEGA-related additions, he's a freebie; you won't have to pay any extra.
The character also comes with his own vehicle, named the Super Roaster, as well as his own emotes, sounds, and three Angry Birds-related tracks for the Jukebox.
Red is one of several new characters coming to CrossWorlds for free; also announced are Goro Majima (as he appears in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii) and Arle of Puyo Puyo fame.
Majima is slated to arrive later this month, and Arle will follow sometime in May.
As for premium DLC still to come for CrossWorlds, there are packs coming for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Avatar Legends, though there's no date on these yet.

Saying that Red is a favorite Sega character is ludicrous and provoking. Without any disrespect to others, I can state that he is the most beloved character in entire gaming.
@Czar_Khastik don’t forget Bomb, the second most important Sega character! He represents the fate of the Dreamcast! So poetic…
Woohoo, yay, erm great. I've got to be honest, Meag Man was the last dlc character I was interested in and nothing else announced interests me. Hopefully at some point they'll add some old school Sega stuff
Saying I forgot SEGA acquired Rovio isn’t true. I actually never knew! I thought they went out of their way to get the rights to use Red in this game lol.
Why is Angry Birds: Star Wars almost $200 physical for PS4 yet $20 for Switch and $40 for xbone and no digital Angry Birds anything besides VR? I had an urge to revisit the simpler times and play some Angry Birds with my $700 PS5Pro on my $1600 QN90D however $200 for a physical is too rich for me.
