Elden Ring Movie 1

A24 has revealed the Elden Ring film adaptation from Alex Garland will hit theatres on 3rd March 2028, and production is underway now. It's being "filmed for IMAX".

The official update comes after some of the set was spotted in a UK park, where fans could catch a glimpse of the film's version of Limgrave and a Church of Marika, complete with the statue inside. In addition to the release date, the cast list has also been confirmed:

  • Kit Connor (Warfare, Heartstopper)
  • Ben Whishaw (Peter Hujar’s Day, This is going to Hurt)
  • Cailee Spaeny (Alien: Romulus, Civil War)
  • Tom Burke (Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, Black Bag)
  • Havana Rose Liu (Tuner, Bottoms)
  • Sonoya Mizuno (Ex Machina)
  • Jonathan Pryce (The Two Popes, The Crown)
  • Ruby Cruz (Bottoms, The Threesome)
  • Nick Offerman (The Last of Us, Margo's Got Money Troubles)
  • John Hodgkinson (Dear England, Napoleon)
  • Jefferson Hall (House of the Dragon, Oppenheimer)
  • Emma Laird (28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, A Haunting in Venice)
  • Peter Serafinowicz (Guardians of the Galaxy, Star Wars: The Phantom Menace)

What roles the actors will play hasn't been announced, and no plot details are official as of yet either. However, given the vagueness of the video game's story, combined with the past work of Alex Garland, expect the adaptation to remain just as open to interpretation.

Alex Garland serves as the director and writer on the project, and his previous work includes Ex Machina, Annihilation, Men, and Civil War. The Elden Ring film is being made "under the guidance" of FromSoftware's own Hidetaka Miyazaki.
