While ongoing support for Dreams has come to an end, it lives on with a small but dedicated community, and they're still creating some great stuff.

BadRobo82, a longstanding member of the Dreams community who has created many visually impressive pieces, has gone viral with a video of their latest effort: a Crash Bandicoot level that, if you're not paying full attention, could be mistaken for the real deal.

While it doesn't appear to have been shared publicly, you can watch a video of the stage below:

On X, BadRobo82 says the level was made "just for fun in one week", with the Crash character made by PickaPlayer. "Fully playable on PSVR too," they say. "Seriously, people have no idea how powerful Dreams is."

The stage looks very similar to the early levels of Crash Bandicoot 1; it's pretty much a straight corridor, with crates to break, enemies to spin, and obstacles to dodge. Surrounding the core level is a high degree of jungle-themed set dressing, just like the real game.

It's not quite on the same level as the concerted effort put into Banjo-Kazooie: Mumbomania, but the pleasant, colourful visuals and recognisable elements from the Crash games is still another great example of what's possible in Media Molecule's toolset.

PC and PS5 versions of Dreams were apparently in the works at some stage, but scrapped following the game's lacklustre impact. Media Molecule is now working on something new.
