Disgaea Mayhem is the official western name for Kyouran Makaism — a frankly mental-looking action RPG that's set in the Disgaea universe — and it's coming to PS5 this summer.
The title's got a bit of a Warriors feel to it, as protagonist N.A. — a grizzled mercenary who's only in it for the money — hacks and slashes his way through battlefields filled with monsters.
Interestingly, you can change N.A.'s fighting style by equipping different weapon types. And yes, Disgaea's trademark 'Item World' returns, allowing for a near infinite amount of grinding.

We're glad to see the series' underlying RPG mechanics remain intact; we're sure that there are still plenty of ways to completely break the difficulty curve, despite this being such a departure in terms of gameplay.
