Two Classic PS1 Beat-'Em-Ups Will Throw a Punch at PS5 This Week 1

Two legendary PS1 beat-‘em-ups, 1997’s Fighting Force and its 1999 successor Fighting Force 2, will launch as part of a compilation on PS5 this week, from 23rd October.

The Fighting Force Collection from Limited Run Games bundles the two 3D brawlers together into one neat package on contemporary consoles.

Developed by Tomb Raider maker Core Design, the original Fighting Force allows you to pick from one of four different characters, and tasks you with taking down the evil Dr. Dex Zeng. Think of it a bit like a modern reimagining of Streets of Rage.

Its sequel builds on the same general concept, but focuses on a single player experience, whereas the original can be played in co-op.

Physical versions of this game were available to pre-order from Limited Run Games, but have now sold out. Therefore, if you missed those, you may want to consider this digital edition instead.
