Gundam Silver Phantom PSVR2

Gundam VR title Mobile Suit Gundam: Silver Phantom is headed for PSVR2, as evidenced by its own PS Store page.

Apparently, said page has been there for about a month at this point — but we (and most other websites) completely missed it due to zero communication on the part of publisher Astrea. Very strange.

The game first released over a year ago on the Meta Quest, where it was, unfortunately, met with rather middling user reviews.

The biggest issue players seem to have is that Silver Phantom is more movie than game; interactions are incredibly limited, and it's got a short runtime of only one or two hours.

So, we wouldn't recommend going into this expecting a full-on Gundam-piloting VR experience. It sounds like it's more of an interactive anime — but that could still appeal to big fans of Gundam as a whole.

To be fair, the official PS Store description does stress that Silver Phantom is a "feature-length interactive cinematic story tailored for Gundam enthusiasts, anime fans, and VR lovers alike". There's no mention of gameplay here!

The title doesn't have a launch date yet, and again, beyond the PS Store page, we can't find any trace of an actual PSVR2 announcement.
