We’ve been itching for an update on the alternate universe Arthurian adventure Tides of Annihilation, and here’s our best look at the upcoming PS5 character action game yet.
For those who don’t know, this game sees you play as Gwendolyn in a fractured recreation of London occupied by the Knights of the Roundtable.
Her quest is to recover the Holy Grail in order to rescue her sister and restore the world, and naturally she’s going to face some resistance along the way.
In this trailer, we meet a shape-shifting witch named Tyronoe, who makes use of magical barriers to protect her from the heroine.
The entire boss fight depicted in this four-minute trailer is sensational stuff: the antagonist transitions between different realms, changing the scenery and obstructing Gwendolyn from attacking.

You need to leverage the abilities of Sir Lamorak – a knight from Arthurian legend – to break through Tyronoe’s sorcery and lay the smackdown.
This is part of a wider mechanic in the game named the Dual Frontline Battle System, which will essentially see you summoning spectral knights to fight alongside you, with more famous mythological names to be announced soon.
Frankly, we’re in love with this.
The art direction is absolutely on point, and the spectacle is right up there with a franchise like God of War.
Sadly, there’s still no release date attached to this project just yet, but we’re absolutely loving what we’ve seen so far.
