Last month, Capcom revealed that it would be locking next year's professional Street Fighter 6 finals behind a paywall, with watchers being asked to cough up for a pay-per-view model.
As you'd expect, this decision was met with some serious pushback; many fans, players, and prominent community figures have argued that Capcom is doing unnecessary damage to both its brand and fighting games in general.
However, it would appear that the publisher isn't ready to pack its plans in completely. New social media correspondence from Capcom itself says that it's now "reviewing" the pricing of the event — but there's no word on the company scrapping the actual concept.

"We have received a lot of feedback from fans and are reviewing the details. We are currently considering adjusting the price for paid live viewing," reads the company's official post (as translated by VGC).
Just to recap, virtual pay-per-view tickets can cost as much as 6,000 yen — which is roughly $40 / £30.
Do you think Capcom will back down on this whole pay-per-view thing? Or is it already too far gone? Question how this even came to be in the comments section below.
